Ollie Bell Spradlin  b. 1894 probably KY, poss TN  d. 1927 McCreary Co, KY  m. Charles Crabtree  b. 1887 Whitley Co, KY   d. 1960 McCreary Co, KY.  I am trying to prove parents of Ollie are indeed Elijah and Elizabeth.  Have been unable to find birth or death records for Ollie, only census records in Whitley and McCreary Co.

Earl Crabtree b.1922 McCreary Co, KY  d. 2007 McCreary Co, KY  m. Eunice Taylor b.1928 McCreary Co, KY  d. 2007 McCreary Co, KY

ME- Jennifer Crabtree Thomas  I live in NKYl

Elijah Spradlin had a sister Telitha  m. George W. Smith, lived in Whitley Co, KY.  They had a dau Nancy Jane Smith m. Pete Crabtree.  Pete and Nancy Jane are parents of Charles (Charlie) Crabtree, who  m. Ollie Spradlin as above.

You can see I'm related to Daugherty and Crabtree multiple ways!  No KY jokes please!?!   I've noticed postings which reference McCreary Co, KY.  That is my hometown and all my relatives live/lived there.  If anyone can help me identify families, parents etc, I will be very grateful.    Thanks, Jenn

My maternal side is Daugherty, Crabtree, Duncan, Creekmore, etc.  Daugherty is a tough one to trace...lol.   I recognize some of those names you mentioned from my lineage research.   You might try ...if you havent already...rootsweb and my family tree websites.  I have also found that family member names can be mispelled between different census'....and there can also be changes to district names / county names between different years....despite them being the exact same area's.

In specific to Sarah Daugherty...at least in my own searching...i had a block / wall ....as it turned out, it was partially because a census taker spelled it Sara...rather than her true spelling of Sarah.

One example in mine is Barzilla Daugherty... spellings of : Brazillia, Barzila, Barzilla...etc, etc.

Im not saying your sarah and mine are one and the same person, but, giving a (hopefully) helpfull idea.

Another line i've found helpfull in my daugherty search, was to verify one of my ancestor's social security number and search for them + connections that step backward in time.

Here's other Crabtree/Daugherty connection:

Douglas Everett Daugherty (b. 10/8/1952) Chattanooga, TN married a Sarah Crabtree (b. 2/5/1951) also in Chattanooga.  All I know is that they have one daughter Elizabeth Ann Thankful Daugherty.  I love her name!

Morton Crabtree (b. abt 1800) married Susan Daugherty (b. abt. 1812).  I haev info on the Daugherty line, but nothing on the Crabtree line.

Clyde Daugherty (b. abt. 1920) married Bertha Crabtree (b. abt. 1925).  More info on the Daugherty line, but nothing on the Crabtree line.
