Hey Tim,
The Clan has a project to trace Kentucky Daugherty/Dougherty's with numerous
teams involved. Can you give some birth and death dates with
names so we can see where you fit in? I am in Family Group (a
clan designation) 529. You can go look at the Clan website for
this family group at:
www.tribalpages.com
ID is FG529 password is cousin
Check it out and write me privately (email on site) or post again here
with more info on your oldest known relatives and we can see if we have
others in your family group already on board!
Your Cuz,

tpdaugherty: One of my uncles is Hurstle H Daugherty...a reverend at the marshes siding church of god...husband to Betty Daugherty. I have another uncle in ky...probably close in that area whose name is Henry. My grandfather was Lawrence Daugherty, husband of Virginia Mae Daugherty....maiden name crabtree or branham. Lawrences father was either Hiram or H. daugherty....married Sara or Sarah Crabtree. My Grandmother's side ((wife of Lawrence) ....has Branham. I live on the west coast, southern oregon. Other immediate family on daugherty side is: Randal (Randy) Forrest Daugherty, Leona Daugherty, Mildred Daugherty, Ann Daugherty, Thelma Daugherty, Steve, Terry, Jerry, Bernard, Edward (eddie) Daugherty.
There is a family bible supposedly floating around in the family, but, my grandmother Virginia doesnt know who has it.....the family bible would have been in the possession of her grandfather from what i am understanding, until he passed away.

Old GI,
I'd love a copy for the Kentucky research project. I'm not too
active on it right now, but I can put it in my files for later.
I'll send you a private message with my email.
Thanks

It is on its way. Let me know if you have any problems. I don't know
how computer knowledgeable you are. Double clicking this file should
open it in almost any spreadsheet including Excell, Lotus 123, Open
Office etc. It is in "comma separated value" or CSV format which is
as close to a universal format as exists for databases and
spreadsheets. It is also a very compact format.
I'm playing around with this for several states. Let me know how useful
you find it.

Old GI: I too would like a copy. Perhaps we can look at developing a folder to upload member files and either display them or provide a download link to them. Thanks

This spreadsheet thing is growing is growing. I'm basically doing the US
till 1810 and a few states specifically Arkansas until later. I also have
230 plus Daughertys on the Dawes list that I'll probably integrate later.
I'll be out of pocket for a few days. We are leaving town for my
brother-in-law's wedding. Anyone interested in the spreadsheets send
me an eMail address.

Dear All,
I'm one of those folks who is heading up a Kentucky Daugherty Research Group. We are all descendants of the Owen Dogharty/Daugherty who immigrated from Ireland to Norfolk, Virginia, in 1673.
The whole group of us, 15 or so, are descendants of Owen's son/grandson (we're still trying to work out whether there were 2 or 3 Owens in the generations from VA to NC) who died in Craven County, North Carolina, in 1785. But we are all descendants of his second family, by second wife, Mary Taylor.
We are REALLY, REALLY looking for anyone who descends from his first family--Owen, Richard, Susannah, Elizabeth, and Sarah. If you are one of those folks, we'd love to include your information in the book that we're compiling.
I'm working on the first two chapters of our book in first draft right now, so please, please get in touch.
